Tomorrow starts our 25 Days of Difference! The title link will direct you to a page that provides all sorts of ways, some simple and some not so simple, to make a difference in the world we live.
Each day we'll choose some sort of way to make a difference in the world and write about what we did on our blogs.
If you're interested in participating you are welcome to join at any time.
Each week we'll participate in at least one school wide drive. This week is the Coat Drive. The collection day will be Thursday. We'll visit Advisee classes during the week and promote the coat drive. Please remind everyone that donated coats should be clean before they bring them to school.
Remember, it doesn't take a Super Hero to make a difference, it takes someone that cares.
A snowman begins with a single flake.
If you are interested in participating in 25 Days of Difference:
1. Set up a blog. Title the blog. Add a domain name along the lines of yournamemakesadifference.blogspot.com
(For example - shannonmakesadifference.blogspot.com)
2. Send the blog URL to me so we can link up.
3. Come to my room on Wednesday, November 19th during Advisee period.
See you then.
Welcome to everyone and anyone who wants to participate in December's 25 Days to Make a Difference. The idea for this challenge comes from 11 year old Laura. Last December, Laura embarked on a journey of completing one good deed a day for every day between December 1st and December 25, 2007. The response to her blog was overwhelming and her good deed a day has not stopped. Her blog has detailed her efforts to raise funds for various charity organizations throughout the year. She has had over 38,000 hits on her blog and has received media attention for her efforts.
So, a few of us here have decided to create our own school challenge and participate in our own Days of Difference. Our goal is to accomplish one good deed a day for each day in December and then blog about what was accomplished, how it made others feel, how it made us feel, and how, when we all work together we can accomplish great things.
If you're interested in participating create a blog and then send me the link. We can all link up together and share stories. Stay tuned for a list of ideas that were brainstormed in class the other day.
Take a look at Laura's blog to get an idea how her decision to bring about change inspired a community. http://twentyfivedays.wordpress.com/ If you want to look at Laura's very first days of difference, you'll have to go back into her archives to December 2007.
